After many months of emailing back and forth, it wasn’t until just last week that I officially got to meet Zac + Bethany at their engagement session! We walked and talked all around Longwood Gardens before we finished up the night at a local airport and met his family for dinner! (My clients are too good to me!)
It all started many, many years ago that Zac + Bethany’s families were friends and lived in the same area, but lost touch over the years. However, on one random lunch break, Zac + Bethany’s aunts got together to catch up but instead ended up talking about Zac + Bethany the whole time. After time went by, Zac + Bethany connected at church and were lost in conversation over their faith, similar backgrounds and love for mustang cars. They talked off and on for several months and after spending the day together after a major snowstorm they knew they were better together.
Bethany has a fascinating love for Washington D.C. Monuments and the history of the city, so they spent the day walking around. After feeling exhausted from all of the walking, they took a seat and admired the Jefferson as a big smile appeared across Zac’s face. Bethany asked what was he smiling about but couldn’t tell her that he was imagining himself getting down on one knee. After realizing how close she was to her friends and family, proposing in D.C. so far away from everyone just didn’t feel right. As the “original proposal plan” was reconstructed, the opportunity to use the same exact airplane that his father and brother used as a proposal “prop” came available. Everything was ready to go; they would be up in the plane, his brother and his wife in the front piloting and Zac and Bethany in the back.. or so he thought. Due to Hurricane Matthew the night before, the airshow was rescheduled, the airport was shut down, and the people that were planning to attend would no longer be able to make it. A few prayers and a beautiful sunny day later, everyone was able to come back. Although the hurricane winds kept them from flying, they were able to taxi the runway and pull off to one of the hangers. As Zac and Bethany got out of the plane everyone came out and he asked her right there on the tarmac!
Zac + Bethany – Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening and your time, energy (and gas!) to travel around PA for your session!! You guys are such an awesome couple and I cannot wait to witness your lifelong commitment to each other this Saturday at your wedding!! Enjoy some of my favorites! xo!
