Tell me about your business! I’d love to hear about it in your own words:

“Rekindled Nurse is a nonprofit that was created by nurses for nurses! We put on events throughout the year and provide resources to nurses. We love to help them in specific areas that they are struggling with or desiring to learn more about! The heart is to hear the need, find the expert and facilitate the connection. We love finding experts to speak to nurses or provide services for them. Then they always have tools in their tool box to utilize when they need them! We became a nonprofit because we love including the community in supporting the nurses. Nothing says “I support you and value the health of your heart and mind” like covering the cost of a ticket to the conference or covering their food or gifts for them. That is one of my favorite parts!”

Why did you get started in this business? What is the big “WHY” that drives you?

“When I first started as a nurse, things were good! But, quicker than I thought, I began to be consumed with burnout, the feelings of doubt, anxiety, lack of confidence and fear that I shouldn’t be a nurse. While I thought I was managing these emotions in private, it undoubtedly started to creep into my marriage, friendships, relationships and my job. I knew something needed to change.

I joined a nurse mentorship program with experts who gave resources to get out of the pit and back into feeling like the truest me! Then I began to see the hard work translate into life and relationships & loved going to work – EVEN ON THE BAD DAYS! I started seeing that I wasn’t alone and many nurses were struggling with the same emotions I was. Seeing so many nurses leave the bedside, loathe nursing, struggle with balancing home & work life and not dealing with the trauma we see every day – it broke my heart. I knew I needed to do something because if I didn’t get help, I would be in that same place.

So, that was my mission! To help others get access to the incredible resources out there just for nurses. And who understand exactly where they are at and to help them know how supported and cared for they are! Rekindled Nurse was created to do just that!”

What makes you different from the rest?

“What makes Rekindled Nurse unique is that myself and some members of my team are still at the bedside. We are walking through the stories you hear and rubbing shoulders with nurses in the trenches. Because we are in this trying time together, we can better understand what the needs are, hear first hand what nurses are experiencing and what they need. It makes the “me too” impact that much stronger because we truly are in this together. No one gets nurses like nurses get nurses!”

If you were to describe your ideal clients, what would you tell me about them?

“I want to attract the change makers. The nurses who are tired of the broken system and the nurses who are ready to step up and do the hard work to grow. Also the nurses who want to learn from experts and make it happen. BUT I also want to attract the new nurses who are tired and don’t think anything will help. And the nurses who don’t think they are struggling “that bad”. Another reason why I chose a nonprofit is that I want to offer these events for free so the ones that are on fire for change come and the ones who feel alone in their questions come. I truly believe that when nurses get in a room to grow, we can change the nursing profession. I love the idea of building each other up!”

What is the biggest problem they have and how do you help to solve it?

“The thing I hear the most of is feeling devalued, dispensable, poor work life balance, burnt out, over worked, and that their heart and mental health is suffering. Rekindled Nurse offers evidence based content to help with specific areas. Guest speakers come and educate and encourage while giving the nurses resources to return to. We offer tangible support through gifts and goodies donated from the community. Lastly, we offer a space for them to be surrounded by people who get where they are at and that they are NOT alone!”

Is there a goal for you with having intentional brand imagery?

“I would love to have a back log of content! Using my own images to place behind text instead of using Canva and Pinterest would be perfect! I am also creating a catalog for the conference so having cohesive beautiful photos is the goal for that! I hope to achieve the heart for the business and that when others look at the images they feel the support and value that they are:)”
