This post has been in the works for a few weeks longer than planned, but none the less, here it is! When we first purchased this house over 3 years ago, we never knew just how much work we would need to put into it to bring it to where it is today! Maybe one day I’ll blog the rest of the house! ;) When we first purchased the house, there was not really any previous flower beds. As you’ll see, there were only a few plants located in the front of the house and a few bushes on the right side of the house. The left side and the whole back of the house was just grass up to the house with rows of rocks (!!) as the “flower beds”.
Between the time we settled on the house, got married and moved in, we had 4 months to make a lot of changes. We knew that we had changes on the inside we wanted to complete before furnishing the house so we decided to put the landscape on hold. The blue carpet was a *high* priority and first on the list to ! ;) Now that all of our big projects (for the most part) are done on the inside, we decided it was time to finally tackle the landscape! I knew I wanted plants within the colors of greens, whites, and deep purple to match the house and the newly painted shutters and specifically some spiral bushes and hydrangeas!!
We knew this would be a big project and probably our “project” for the year, and we’re so thankful that it’s finally done and now we can enjoy it! Special thanks to Sauder’s Nursery for their help in designing the layout and doing all of the hard labor for us!! We’re so thankful!!
I should also point out that these images are from multiple cameras (a point and shoot (not mine – the realtors), my cellphone and then my DSLR! haha!!) and different seasons of the year! However I wanted to show the before/during/afters!! :) Enjoy!
