They met in school where he was her 8th grade crush that continued the whole way to high school. They texted and talked in classes they had together from freshman to junior year. One day when they were setting up for Manheim Farm Show, he was talking to a close friend of Stephs. When Travis and the friend finished talking, the friend went over to Steph and told her all that Travis said about her, how he had a huge crush on her, how he was super into her and that Steph should give him a chance. Although Steph was super shy when it came to “boys”, it wasn’t her kind of thing to run up to him and ask him on date. They continued to text and talk a little more frequently in school until about month or so later. They were going to a campfire at a friends house and in her driveway he showed Steph a cookie that his sister had made that said “ Will you be my Girlfriend”, to which she said yes!
On July 3rd , 2018 Travis asked Steph if she wanted to have a mid-week date. He told her that he wanted to take a four wheeler ride to go check cows out at a rental property. When they arrived there were flowers on the fence which seemed out of place, so he told her to check it out. When Steph got close she saw a ring which was tied onto one of the flowers. Immediately, she started crying and he got down on one knee and popped the big question! Aside from asking her to become his wife, he had a very cute picnic set up for them to have dinner in the pasture. Due to the heat and the level of excitement, they opted to hold off on supper and go tell family and friends the news!
