I’ve been dying to share more of this Hershey Theatre Engagement Session because it’s such a simple but classic location! Not to mention how classic Steve and Kaitlin looked during their session! I’m definitely calling it a win-win! ;)
In the fall of 2017, Kaitlin was placed at the inpatient rehabilitation hospital for her clinical rotation. Prior to starting there, she had a running joke with some of her friends that she would just meet a handsome man who worked at the hospital during her clinical experience. And that is actually what happened! They crossed paths numerous times during her 12-week internship at the hospital, and was immediately attracted to Steve, but didn’t think she had any chance with him. It was towards the end of her clinical experience when one of Kaitlin’s clinical instructors stopped and asked her if she had ever had an interest in Steve. Of course she was interested, but didn’t think he was single. Little did her instructor know, she played matchmaker and planted a seed in Steve’s head.
About 3 months after Kaitlin’s clinical internship ended at the hospital, they began officially dating on February 18, 2019. She was still finishing up her Master’s degree at the time, so she would travel home from Wilkes-Barre, PA every weekend so her and Steve could spend as much time together as possible. “Honestly, it didn’t take me long to realize that Steve was the man I had been praying and dreaming of my entire life. I think it was the beginning of the summer when we both started seriously talking about getting married.”
They planned a double date with Steve’s best friend and girlfriend at a beautiful restaurant on the beach while they were in Florida. The food arrived over 45 minutes late, which made Steve nervous, but Kaitlin was totally oblivious. After they had finished eating, Steve’s friend suggested they go to a different beach about 10 minutes away to watch the sunset. Kaitlin recalls, “I didn’t think anything of it.. until we arrived.” They walked hand in hand out onto the beach, right at the beginning of sunset. They walked for about 5 minutes on the beach until Kaitlin paused, because far in the distance she noticed candles and lanterns. “I totally thought it was for someone else, until Steve led me right to the center of that beautiful semi-circle with lanterns, candles, tea-lights, and rose petals and got down on one knee. I honestly can’t remember a word he said, but I said yes!”
As if you need convinced anymore of how amazing they are, I love what Kaitlin says, “We cannot be more excited about spending our life together. We truly believe that we are better together, and we have a dream of impacting a large number of people throughout our lifetime through various different methods. Our goal is to always leave each person we meet better than we found them, and to be a blessing to each and every person we meet.” <3
Steve + Kaitlin – you guys are a DREAM. So so thankful to have been joining in excitement with you two as you journey towards marriage! Enjoy!
