When you’re new in business, its hard to decide when certain business moves are right for you. You may not have a lot of experience in the industry or maybe you have a few years under your belt. So, how do you know when to make a move and invest in branding photography for your business? Here are 7 signs that you’re ready for a branding session:
This is a pretty straight forward reason that if you’ve never had professional images taken, this is a great start! If you’re in your first few years of business (1-2 years), it’s still important to have at least a few head shots taken. Which could look like jumping on a mini-session opportunity! You only need a few images to get started! Once you’ve started to build authority, building your portfolio and your experience, then you’re ready for a branding session!
I personally try and get new head shots every 6 months at best, but certainly within 12 months. It’s important to have photos of yourself and your business, but also keeping them updated! Having updated head shots throughout the year (as well as updating anything in business) is important and showcases that you’re still in business! Imagine if a potential client came to your website and saw your images and content were really outdated. Do you think they would assume that you’re still in business? Or that you’ve put business in retirement and closed up shop? Update everything in your business as needed to stay current, including your head shots!
This is a red flag!! If your images aren’t attracting and connecting with your ideal client, then you’re most likely also missing out on income as well! A branding session is a great way to narrow in on your ideal client and then use your images to connect with your ideal client. You can offer behind the scenes processes, tell your story and use your new images in that way! More clients = more profit!
My branding sessions provide about 5-6 months of content and that’s even if you were to post a session image every single day. While that’s not super common, it still gives you a huge jump on content ideas from just one session! The best part is that it’s all completed in just two hours!!!
Are you charging a premium price, but your work doesn’t reflect that? It’s important that your pricing makes sense with the quality that you’re providing, which is representing in your branding images!
This is kind of a similar reason to the point I made above. But if your pricing is set higher than what your website or social media is telling, you may be loosing customers. Why? Because your brand charges premium prices but showcases that it’s a DIY business, it doesn’t create trust with your client! If this is the case, then it’s time to have professional images that reflect you as an expert and your business as professional and experienced.
Is your website clear and showcases exactly what you do? Or are you sending mixed messages and unsure who your target audience is? By completing a branding session, you’ll walk away with clarity on your business message and images to showcase it!
