When I first branched out in photographing branding sessions, I knew that I desperately wanted to add a florist branding session to the mix. I envisioned using a white studio backdrop and incorporating different flower arrangements and all of the fun poses I could do! When Kate, from Forte Florals, reached out to fill my florist branding session desire I was on cloud 9!
I met Kate years ago at a local small business meet up and remember thinking how sweet she was! Fast forward many years and she’s still the sweet beautiful business lady I met years ago. Doing this session was SO much fun in seeing her passion and talent shine while incorporating her adorable little kiddos to the mix. She truly is a talented florist and I’m so excited and honored to share her branding session with you!
Meet Kate!
“We are a custom floral studio designing modern, romantic and whimsical floral designs for weddings. But basically the nitty gritty is I’m a mama to three and self-taught floral designer, who loves whimsical and modern designs, created a floral studio 7 years ago to turn my passion into profit, transformed our one car garage into a floral studio so I can still be at home with my boys, and adores working with brides in this very special time in their lives. It really combines all my loves together. And I feel so honored to have this dream job.”
“I’m a marketing and sales gal turned floral designer. I’ve always had a love for flowers and designing, just never knew I could turn it into something of profit! As a girl I would run out to my mom’s numerous flower gardens and cut a bunch of loose flowers. I designed little arrangements for *almost* every room in our house every week. It was life giving and I loved it! When one of my sisters got married over 11 years ago, naturally I offered to design the florals. Boy was I in way over my head.
I’ve since grown in my understanding of flowers as art, and in my own skill set. Why did I get into this field? I’ve always believed flowers can be designed in beautiful ways that emulate balance, movement and rest, without being stuffy and outdated. I wanted to be a floral designer to bring whimsical, modern florals to the floral industry. The type of arrangements that make you take a breath and feel at peace. These designs became life giving to me. And I wanted to bring them into the floral world and to my brides.“
“Our style is organic, modern, whimsical and romantic. Different than traditional floral designers. We are all about service. We believe this day is about our clients and they deserve our best top-notch service. And I’m a mama who had the business smarts to create a dream job while being able to stay at home with my kids – yes they are crawling all over my lap and playing with my hair but I wouldn’t have it any other way!“
“They are college graduates or young career professionals who love travel, come from educated or affluent backgrounds, difference makers, shop at high end stores, and are willing to spend $$ on their gown (and florals). Our bride’s vision usually revolves around a high-end editorial look and feel with whimsical and garden inspired florals.“
“Our brides are not just looking for your normal run-of-the-mill wedding florals. They want timeless florals that truly reflect them and their style, while fitting in our brand, and provide an atmosphere guests will be talking about for years to come. We are very protective of who we book in a year (after all, we only have a limited amount of weekends).“
“Our brand aesthetic is light and airy, feminine, celebrates our brides true and natural God-given beauty, whimsical, nature-driven, and customer service focused. Serving our clients brings us so much joy!“
