Oliver & Emily’s Longwood Gardens Photo Session was a new experience for me. We were racing against the rain and severe thunderstorms that were headed our way. Thankfully, Longwood Gardens has an incredible indoor space that allowed us to still photograph their engagement images!
I loved how easy-going Oliver & Emily were! Completely laid back and trusted me to guide them through the conservatory until the storm passed. Then, they trusted me when we were able to sneak outside and finish up their session after it rained. It’s always such a blessing to work with clients that trust you and let go of control and just focus on having fun! That’s exactly what we did! Side note: Can we have a moment for Emily’s *adorable* pearl bow in the second outfit? I was obsessed with it!!
“We met while working together at a hospital in Hagerstown, MD. I was a sonographer there, and he was/is a radiologist. We worked together for over a year before Oliver asked me out on date after I accepted a new job at a different hospital. I used to bring in different gummy candy for him when I knew we were working together and drop them off at his desk. He used to go out of his way to walk past my department to stop to talk when I was working.”
“Oliver proposed in March of this year while we were visiting San Diego for an ultrasound conference. We decided to take a short morning hike in La Jolla. It was super cloudy and foggy that morning, so it was hard to get a good view of the cliffs. Once we reached the end of the little trail, I wanted to look over the cliffs a little bit so we stopped.
Oliver isn’t always the best at executing surprises, so he turned toward me and asked me to get “something” out of his bag. I asked him what he wanted me to get and where it was. He told me it was in the front pocket of his backpack. I started getting frustrated and asked him, “How am I supposed to find something in his backpack if I don’t know what it is that he wants?” I finally looked in that pocket and saw a ring box and took it out. He then announced that he was proposing and got down on one knee.”
I love that she added the little bow as a personal touch to their Longwood Garden Photo Session details! It was the cutest little addition and I’m officially in support of other brides doing fun little things like that!
“Oliver’s two favorite things about me are my honesty and silly sense of humor.”
“My two favorite things about Oliver are that he is extremely reliable. When he says he will do something, he always does it and sometimes right away. He doesn’t often procrastinate, and I never have to worry if he remembered to do whatever it is I asked him to do. My other favorite thing about him is that he is a hard-worker. He spends a lot of time at work taking on multiple responsibilities and roles. He almost never complains about his workload.”
