As a former wedding photographer, I had the privilege of working closely with many different makeup artists, including Kylie Ryan Beauty. I first met Kylie during my very last wedding after 13 years in the industry, just before fully transitioning into branding photography. So, to say I was honored to photograph her makeup artist branding session would truly be an understatement.
We began Kylie’s makeup artist branding session in her studio to showcase where she does her makeup trials, lessons, and more. Our goal was to give her clients a sense of familiarity with her studio and what to expect when they arrive. I loved how Kylie also incorporated different models to highlight her incredible makeup skills.
Updating Kylie’s Headshots
One of the most important goals for us was to capture fresh, new headshots of Kylie. It’s crucial for business owners to have up-to-date content that reflects the face behind their brand. We took a variety of headshots, both with and without props, to give Kylie a well-rounded selection of images. Headshots add a personal touch and help build trust with your audience, so they are always a top priority in my branding sessions!
Capturing Kylie in Action
Another goal of ours was to showcase Kylie working in action. We used models to give her future clients a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be in her makeup chair. Each of these photos captured the expertise, care, and attention Kylie gives to each and every one of her clients!
Creating Content for Makeup Lessons
Kylie is planning on expanding her services to include makeup lessons. We decided to stage a “makeup lesson” photoshoot with one of her models who role-played as a client. We captured Kylie teaching about makeup, application techniques, and product recommendations. This content will ensure that Kylie has beautifully branded images that are ready to go when she launches this part of her business!
Showcasing Kylie as a Traveling Makeup Artist
Our last goal was to highlight that Kylie is a traveling makeup artist. We captured more behind-the-scenes photos of her working at a local venue, giving potential clients a glimpse into the kind of work she does with brides on their wedding day. Not only do these photos showcase her skill and professionalism, but also her ability to provide on-location services for weddings and events.
