I’m going to try and keep my “intro” short this morning because I’m SO excited to be able to tell you my best surprise (and possibly my most favorite!) today and don’t want to keep you waiting any longer!! :) If you’ve been following along with me on Instagram (@kelsreneephoto).. you know that I took updated head shots for a wonderful photographer friend, but didn’t say anything more about it! You know as a primary photographer, who’s husband is NOT your second shooter, you may understand that finding a second shooter that fits your “mold” is HARD. I’ve had countless moments when I begged my husband to help me out so I wouldn’t have to worry so much about finding help on a wedding day. Someone that had a similar shooting style as me, that didn’t live too far away, that was a people-person.. etc, etc. After many “trial + errors” of finding THAT person, God gave me a light bulb moment! To make a long story super short..I had this bride that when we met, became INSTANT BFF material. Fast forward to last year when she posted on Instagram about getting into photography again and was starting to post images online and then .. LIGHT BULB! My Best decision?? I took a leap of faith and asked her if she would be interested in becoming a second shooter for me and well lets just say.. she’s taking on ALL of my 2016 weddings with me!!! I can’t explain how THRILLED I am and also how RELIEVED I am, knowing that I don’t need to worry about it any more!!! God is so good!! So everyone: Meet Kendra!! From here I’m going to let her introduce herself!! Enjoy!! :)
Tell us a little about yourself: Hi there! I’m Kendra Marie Galascione Sakoian! I live in Ephrata, PA with my lovely husband and fur-baby Teddy! :D I’m a lover of music, pasta (really ALL Italian food in general!), The Office, dogs, and I’m someone who puts happiness and passion as a main priority in life. I believe that when you have passion, whether it’s about a hobby, your loved ones, or your career, you can have such happiness in your life.
How would you describe your style of shooting?: I really love bright light and bold colors, and I like for my photos to just be a representation/enhancement of how whatever I’m shooting really is in real life – not heavily edited or photoshopped. I like my photos to be true to what my subjects are; honest. My description of honesty would be that I like to capture things in their nature state – couples interacting with each other as if I’m not there, their emotions & love visible in their images. Or beautiful details during a wedding day, or focusing on the details of certain products or scenes.
Can you tell us the story of how you found out about Kelsey Renee Photography?: Good ol’ Facebook! Haha. One of my friends from high school, who is also a photographer, shared one of Kelsey Renee Photography’s posts. At that time, I was not looking to become a photographer (yet!), but I was recently engaged looking for a photographer! So I contacted her about doing a little “for fun” session with me and my then fiance, to get used to being in front of the camera. And the rest is history! We clicked the first time we met, it was like meeting an old friend. Since then I’ve just been in love with Kelsey & her brand, and everything she represents! She photographed my wedding day, and now I get to photograph besides her, capturing others’ wedding days as an extension of her brand, and I’m so thankful!
What are you looking forward to most this year with 2nd shooting for KRP?: I’m really looking forward to just start experiencing & photographing these weddings alongside Kelsey! Since I’m finally starting my professional journey with photography this year, I’m very excited about the experience I’m going to get…it’s going to be tremendous. Also, I really enjoy serving others, so I’m really looking forward to getting to help Kelsey during the day in any way that I can, and help make sure that everything goes smoothly for her (and therefore, her brides!). We’re going to have the best time, I’m really excited for the wedding season to start so soon!
