2016 is probably my most exciting year yet as far as couples go, because so many of them are close childhood friends that are getting married! It’s hard to believe that it’s OUR time to be getting married! It’s really a wake-up call for how fast time is FLYING!! Today, I get to introduce Ben + Abby and I couldn’t be more excited!! Abby has been such a fun, outgoing girl to have a friendship with I’m beyond honored to be photographing her wedding!
It all started in Sophomore year at Messiah College, when a group of friends (her group of friends + his group of friends) met up at a diner. Coincidentally, they ended up sitting across the table from one another. “During the night, I specifically remember how he took the time to pray before he ate his late night snack of loaded french fries, while everyone else just dug right into their food. I thought to myself, “Wow, what a guy.” After hanging out together during group dates, Ben finally built up the confidence and asked Abby out on a date.
One evening before going out to eat together, Ben convinced Abby that he left his wallet at the baseball field after workouts earlier that morning. When they arrived, Abby noticed that there were baseballs scattered all over the field, figuring that someone was there previously from practicing hitting and never cleaned up afterwards. Offering to help Ben clean up the field, she starting making her way towards the pitching mound when she picked up a baseball that was very different than the rest. To her surprise, Ben carved out the inside of the baseball and when she opened it, the ring was inside. She turned around to see Ben was already down on one knee!
I couldn’t stop smiling as I was reading her proposal story and the way they met! Ben + Abby are the sweetest people and I loved my time with them! I’m beyond excited to photograph their wedding in August at the beautiful Moonstone Manor! Enjoy!!
Ben custom designed Abby’s ring, and added both of their birthstone colors on the sides!! What an awesome idea!
