I cannot believe that I was actually able to keep this a secret since FEBRUARY! Back in February, one of my photographer friends, Jenna of Jenna Brianne Photography, mentioned an opportunity to do a styled shoot at the Harrisburg Capitol Building (um, yes please!). I’ve always wanted to do one but quite honestly, I was WAY too nervous to do it on my own. So I jumped at her offer immediately and I’m SO thankful that I did!
Our vision for the styled shoot was fine art, classic and romantic. We knew that the Harrisburg Capitol Building was the perfect location with its many classic features to help tie our vision together! Our models, Nick and Julia, were the perfect couple to work with for this project! They were so sweet and were actually engaged during this session! It made it extra special that they were able to get a little preview into a bride + groom portraits!
Looking back at this day, I’m reminded of the beauty that comes from working with others. I was honored to work with new-to-me vendors and seeing their incredible talents come to life!
Sandra (Sandra Porterfield Floral) knocked it out of the park with the bouquet!. I’m a huge sucker for a white and green bouquet with a hint of blush! So you can imagine my face when I was greeted with the bouquet for the shoot!! In other words, if I could photograph her bouquets every day I would be 100% okay with that. Nikki (Hair & Makeup By Nikki D) did the most beautiful and natural-looking makeup for Julia. We had a few hairstyle ideas but Nikki exceeded our expectations with the results! It was perfect!
We knew that we wanted a chance to play around with some beautiful stationery details and ring boxes from The Mrs. Box! We contacted our friend, Ashley, (RSVP Love) who does AMAZING stationery work. Again, we gave her some ideas of what we were looking for and she went above and beyond to create gorgeous pieces for us! (Shameless plug: She did a guest post on my blog all about custom stationery and the many benefits of it! Therefore, if you’re a bride – THIS blog post is for you!).
I can’t forget to mention the absolutely stunning Madison James gown that we got to use from Posh Bridal! (Again, if you’re in need of a bridal gown – get connected with Taylor who was such a blessing to work with!!) SO, have you caught on yet to just how amazing and talented all of these vendors are??
As if that wasn’t enough good news already, I’m SO excited to share that this was published on Pennsylvania Weddings! My first publication!! Feeling beyond honored and humbled for this opportunity and so thankful for the many amazing and wonderful vendors that help make it a smashing success!! Enjoy many of my favorites from this day!! P.s. This was just the beginning of my styled shoot experience – now I’m HOOKED! :)
