When I first launched Branding Sessions in my business, I had no idea the wide variety of sessions that I would get to photograph. From a Wedding Photographer Branding Session to Florist Branding Session and now a Homeschool Branding Session. As I’ve said before, these sessions work so just about every business out there!
I knew that working with Karla, from Lead them Well, was going to be so much fun! I got a sneak peek into life as a homeschool mom and family. Not only does she homeschool her own children, but her business is an incredible tool for many other moms and families!
Take the time to read more about her homeschool branding session! If you’re in the market to homeschool your children, this is a must read! Meet Karla!
“I provide services for homeschool moms through homeschool support sessions, coaching calls, and end-of-the-year PA homeschool evaluations. I’m a PA certified teacher with a master’s degree in education and nine years of public teaching experience. In 2016, I quit my teaching job to homeschool my kindergartener. While I’ve worked with many children in public schools and private tutoring, the focus of my business is to allow me to connect with and equip moms with the resources and confidence to lead and educate their children in the home.
During homeschool support sessions, I assess reading, writing, and math levels and give feedback to the parent. We discuss specific needs (daily schedule, behavior challenges, curriculum choices, finding time to refuel, etc) as we strategize and find fresh ideas and solutions. Coaching calls give moms the opportunity to receive individual feedback and support based on their specific situation, without setting up an in-person appointment.
Sometimes you need a different perspective and assurance that everything is going to be okay. PA homeschool evaluations are required by Pennsylvania for children ages 6+ who are educated under the PA homeschool law. I hold homeschool evaluations in May and June, providing families with proper documentation needed for their school district. I help families understand the evaluation process ahead of time and celebrate with the families “at the end of the school year!”
“I have a heart for moms in this busy, tech-filled world. I have a heart for children, that their hearts and minds grow in the way that God intended. When I became a mom, I realized the home environment, routines, and activities put in front of them deeply impact my children’s lives. In a technology-dependent world, we have choices to make for our homes. These choices affect our children’s brains and the foundation for the rest of their lives. I’ve worked to bring healthy growth opportunities to my children’s days to allow their God-given potential to come alive.
Lead Them Well began with a goal to support moms in creating home environments that allow their children to grow in the ways that God intends, while also experiencing personal growth themselves in the season of motherhood. As 2020 unfolded, new opportunities came my way. Business doors opened specifically to moms who were homeschooling for the first time, facing unknowns of homeschool requirements, curriculum, kids home all day, limitless demands, and new weight on their shoulders.”
“I’m both a certified teacher and mom of three, in the journey of teaching my children at home right now. My experiences as a brick-and-mortar teacher, cyber school teacher, tutor, and homeschool mom allow me to provide the input, direction, and encouragement my clients are looking for! My bachelor’s degree is in Special Education K-12 and my master’s degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. I’ve worked with children of all levels (elementary, middle, and high school).
I attended a private school when I was a child, taught in public brick-and-mortar classrooms, taught virtually through a cyber school, have tutored extensively, and now am teaching my children at home. I’ve worked with children within special education and regular education in PA public schools, supporting a variety of levels of need with the goal of success and a strong individualized education. Also, I’ve worked for the students and for strong collaboration among the parents, teachers, and administrators. I love coming alongside parents in their involvement in their children’s education.
When my oldest was going into preschool, I purchased a homeschool curriculum out of curiosity, wondering why people would go the route of homeschool when cyber school is free! I found my answer in the sweet moments of reading and raising my children within the curriculum that we chose based on our values and our child’s interests. Homeschool moms – I’m in it with you! I face daily challenges and deepened growth through this homeschool journey. We often need someone to take us by the hand in the challenging, important aspects of life, growing with those we can learn from. I’m here to be that person. Bringing homeschool wisdom and practical advice, I walk with families to experience a strong and beneficial homeschool experience!”
“My ideal clients are homeschool moms who don’t want their homeschool to be a second-best education. They want homeschool to provide the opportunity to thrive academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. It can feel uncertain, but they are encouraged by direction, answers to questions, and affirmation by others. They probably enjoy coffee, time with friends (which is super refreshing when it happens), and are grateful to gain wisdom and direction through my coaching and mentorship.”
“Even if your business is in the beginning stages, book a branding session! Kelsey’s business questionnaire helped me think through important questions concerning my business. Her guidance, direction, and excitement is just what I needed. She thinks through all the details, and will lead you through it!”
“As one of my kids said, “Branding sessions are more fun than regular family pictures, because you don’t have to just stand there and smile!” And another one jumped in and said, “Yeah, you just get to do what you like doing throughout the day!” Kelsey did a great job capturing different areas of my home and various tasks we complete in a day! She made us and our home feel very special!”
“Follow me on Instagram and reach out through a DM or at helloleadthemwell@gmail.com to schedule a PA Homeschool Evaluation. Reach out for a homeschool support session if you’re beginning to homeschool or need input and direction as you continue to strengthen your homeschool!”
“This was new territory for me. I’m not used to being in front of a camera like this and I don’t want it to be “about me”! But I felt like it was the step I was supposed to take. Working with Kelsey has already brought clarity and more connections. Building a business from scratch isn’t easy, and Kelsey’s excitement, expertise, and direction is pushing me forward in my journey! Thank you Kelsey!!”
