Getting to meet and work with Kristen, from Simply Elegant Affairs, was like hanging out with an old friend. Branding Sessions have become such a fun way to experience quality time with new vendors in the wedding industry. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. Photographing a Wedding Planner Branding Session was SO helpful in learning the behind the scenes of their job and all that’s involved!
“I specialize in wedding planning, coordination and design! I currently offer three main packages to my couples currently, Full service planning, partial wedding planning and Day of Management. My packages are full of design work and work closely on helping create the vision for your day”.
“I have always had a passion for serving people and always saw myself in a helping field. My first job out of college made me so burnt out and anxious all the time. However, it made me really evaluate what my priorities were. I always had an interest in wedding planning and told my mom many times growing up that I would have my own wedding planning business someday.“
“I initially took a leap of faith, quit my full-time job and started nannying full time. This allowed me to really work on starting my business. Fast forward to now, my business is such a blessing! Getting to stay home with my daughter has always been my driving force and the main reason I started my business. I am so thankful I did!”
“My “why” now is the gift of being able to stay home with my daughter, while also still serving couples throughout their marriage journey. Wedding Planning most definitely is not the same as counseling. However, I love being able to help couples navigate the stress of planning a wedding and maintaining relationships along the way. Most importantly, I always tell them that at the end of the day, their marriage above all else is what is most important, not their wedding day.”
“I feel that my couples really have a very personal planning experience with me! I’ve had so many of my brides tell me that they feel like our planning meetings are more like talking with a friend. Or that they do not feel like “just a number” to me. Building relationships with my couples is something I really value and always want to be involved in every wedding. That is super important to me!”
“My ideal clients are first and foremost couples that respect that I am a mom and wife first. My business is done while being a full-time stay at home mom. For example, if we schedule a call in the middle of the day you may hear a toddler crying in the background. Or she may want to come talk to you on FaceTime during our call.
I love working with couples who will value what a planner and coordinator can bring to the table instead of feeling that they were required to have one and didn’t want one or they are trying to find the best deal. Couples that I work best with are outgoing, light hearted and feel comfortable with right off the bat. It’s also helpful that they’re responsive, willing to take suggestions and open to hearing honest and transparent reasoning and advice.”
“My couples are partial and full service clients and the majority really don’t know where to start in the planning process. I work with them closely on narrowing down the overall vision they have for their day. For example, helping them stay realistic on guest count, design and bringing their vision to life in a way that is reflective of their budget.”
“I really work to get to know the couple and find what are the most important aspects of the wedding day to each of them. That becomes the driving force of where we focus more time and money. Throughout the whole process I keep them on schedule and bounce ideas off of them. Also, I really help them think of the little details early that they normally wouldn’t think about until the month of the wedding!”
