Photographing an Equine Therapy Branding Session was definitely new for me! However, that’s the beauty of branding sessions and how they can be one-size-fits-all! When Sarah inquired with me after seeing her sister-in-law’s branding session, I was excited for the new challenge and seeing how we could capture her session!

Photographing branding sessions are a lot of work and deep-diving into the business of each individual. Getting to learn more about Sarah and Beacon Meadow Farms was such a gift! I love the heart behind their business and the way that they’re using it to bless and nurture others! Meet Sarah!

What is your business and what do you do?

“Beacon Meadow Farm exists to bring hope, connection, and healing to our family and community. We do this through trauma informed equine therapy and raising quality boer goats. Equine therapy provides an unique opportunity to start exploring connection within relationships. We use horses because they are capable of engaging in genuine connection, relationships, and partnership. Therefore, an individual can begin to explore healthy connections organically as they build a relationship with their horse, with the guidance and expertise of a therapist.”

“As the individual learns to become a safe and receptive partner for the horse, their own healing comes about. They experience the healing flow of connection, as a result, they are able to offer and to experience safety and connection in their human relationships, as well.”

“At Beacon Meadow Farms we value authenticity, connected relationships, attunement, and healing. We’re passionate about making sure individuals feel safe when at our farm. We’re diligently working to provide safety by attuning to the individual and making them feel heard, seen, valued and understood without judgement. Also, we allow the individual to guide the process of how they would like to build connection and a relationship with their horse. We value connection above all else, as it is the vehicle for change! Our goal is to help individuals overcome their resistance to connection from past hurts, so they can have healthy, connected, and attuned relationships to those around them and ultimately to God.”

Why did you get started in this business?

“Through my own healing journey I have learned the value of attunement and connected relationships. While exploring connection my dysfunctional beliefs and resistance towards connection came out. Working through those and learning to experience healthy connection was life changing for me! My relationship to God, my husband and family all benefited! My own experience drives me, as I want others to experience healing and freedom through healthy connection.”

What makes your business unique?

“We highly value connection and attunement, as connected relationships are a vehicle for change. We are Christian based and often seek his wisdom and presence before meeting with individuals. For those that need to process trauma we utilize Rhythmic Riding. This helps the individual develop the body awareness, mindfulness, grounding, and affect tolerance necessary for safely processing trauma. We also use Natural Lifemanship’s model for equine therapy; meaning we have a therapist and equine professional at each session. This allows the therapist to focus on the individual, while the equine professional can be available to help with the horse.”

If you were to describe your ideal clients, what would you tell me about them?

“Our ideal client is any child, adolescent, or adult who would like to improve their relationships and work on healing their hearts from past hurts. As a foster and adoptive mom, I do really love helping individuals who are walking in that journey also.”

What is the biggest problem your clients have and how does your product/service help solve it?

“As humans we seek safety and comfort in connection with our families or people closest to us. Our process helps individuals overcome the internal resistance and dysfunctional beliefs to connection and relationships that they’ve acquired as a result of hurts, and traumas they have experienced. As the individual works through their resistance to connection and learns to become a safe partner for the horse, they will experience the healing flow of connection. They are then able to transfer this experience of safety and connection in their human relationships, as well.”
