“My ideal client’s biggest problem is that they have too much paperwork and no system to keep it under control. This teacher loves actually teaching, but doesn’t love all the extra stuff that comes with teaching. My strategies and resources will help them create systems for their classroom. They can get their progress monitoring and paperwork on a schedule so that they have more time to focus on developing relationships and creating engaging lessons for their students with disabilities.”
Why did you get started in this business?
“I’ll be honest, my first few years of teaching were super challenging. I did not know how much paperwork would be involved and I had such a hard time keeping up. I used to regularly cry at my desk because I would get to work an hour early, stay late, take work home, and I still was not caught up. Teachers have so many expectations aside from teaching that it is no wonder why we are burning out!”
“I created this business so that other teachers do not have to struggle the way I did. If teachers had the tools they needed to get organized and create routines for data collection that worked, maybe more great teachers would stay in the field. It takes a very unique person to dedicate their lives to serving children with disabilities. If I can do anything to help someone with that kind of heart stay in the classroom, I want to help.”
“My ideal client is a new special education teacher. This teacher has a caseload of students and needs help figuring out how to monitor all of their IEP goals. This teacher loves her students, creates engaging lessons, but struggles to keep the paperwork under control.”
What makes your business unique? What makes you different from the rest?
“One thing that sets me apart from other teacher businesses is that I am still in the field. I work full-time in a 2nd grade learning support classroom. I teach students all day long. My strategies and resources are proven to work because I first use everything in my own classroom. I can speak to the teacher who is debating quitting because I have definitely been there.”
One of my favorite things about Branding Sessions is that they’re always 100% custom to each entrepreneur. Rachel knew that she wanted to add her girls in some of her photos, doing the things that they normally enjoy at home. Reading, playing games or toys together and snacking on charcuterie boards. Adding this side of your personality to your brand and showcasing your behind-the-scenes life is always an easy way to connect with your audience! Not to mention, you get adorable photos of you and your family :)
