What makes me different as a PA Branding Photographer is that I am super passionate about making sure my clients get the most out of their branding session. And I don’t just mean that they walk away with the prettiest of business images. Although, that is a goal! I want my clients to get the most out of their branding session and it starts before the session even takes place! So, today, I’m breaking down the top 5 ways to get the most out of your Branding Session! Starting with the most important tip…

Plan plan plan!

I cannot stress this enough! There is a REASON why I book branding sessions 4-6 weeks (minimum!) in advance. A bonus that I offer with my branding sessions is that you get a ONE YEAR leeway to schedule and complete your session! That’s how important the planning process is! It’s not a marketing scheme to show that my branding sessions are in demand (although, it does help if I’m being real honest) by saying I’m booking X amount of weeks out. But to expect to book a branding session and one week later complete your shoot isn’t in your best interest. Taking the time that you need to properly plan your session is truly one of the best ways to get the most out of your branding session.

Prepare

This also ties into the planning aspect of getting the most out of your session. Don’t plan on going shopping the night before your session or gathering all of your props into your car last minute. The best thing is to give yourself time and prepare ahead of schedule. Print out the prop checklist that you’re given during our branding strategy call so that you have everything you need ahead of time. The morning of your session will be so much more relaxed if you’ve prepared everything you need in advance and not last minute!

Voice your concerns

I’m your friend first and photographer second. I care about what you care about and it’s helpful for me to know if there’s something that you’re concerned or nervous about! Maybe you like the left side of your profile better than the right side (hi, it’s me!). Maybe you feel uncomfortable with getting professional makeup and would rather skip it. Whatever your concern, you’re safe to share it with me and I’ll do my best to assist you in any way possible!

Check your mindset

This one may feel a little weird but I still think it’s important to note. A positive and excited mindset looks best on everyone! That being said, it is totally normal to be nervous but excited! My job and goal is to make you feel comfortable AND confident in front of the camera. The first 10 minutes might feel the most uncomfortable but you’ll break out of your shell in no time!

Remember, these images are serving a purpose beyond how you look in front of the camera. These images represent your business, are used to attract clients which brings you more revenue, helps you to build the like/know/trust factor with your audience and more. Keep that the focus of your session and your final images will speak for themselves!

Create a playlist!

Lastly, and maybe the most fun tip, create a playlist of your favorite songs!! This also will help to break the ice at the beginning of your session and get you into a more relaxed state! I love and fully support when clients bring music that is familiar to them and makes them feel comfortable. Having your favorite music playing in the background also helps to fill the room and cancels out the awkward silence. Branding sessions are FUN – it’s to celebrate YOU and your AWESOME business and I believe getting your photo taken should be a party! So bring the music, the confetti and the confidence and let’s do this!
